Federation of International Polo Women’s Invitational

The purpose of this event is to encourage and increase the participation of women players globally; to enhance and develop players so that they are well prepared to represent their country if called upon; and to help sponsors, teams and coaches to scout new and upcoming players.

Countries that have implemented the women’s handicaps will be welcome to play. The tournament will be played between 16 – 18 goals so that each country will be able to put together a competitive team. A tournament of this stature is not yet developed for women players and this will serve as the building blocks for such a tournament and evolve into an FIP World Cup.

Women’s French Open

Four teams are currently vying for the the title of the largest women’s tournament in Europe, which begins September 17th, including the best player in Argentina, Lia Salvo. Yet, she won’t be able to simply rest on her laurels, for the competition is strong with women’s polo being a highly trending sport in France today. For example, Lia and her teammates will have to face the club’s “junior” team, comprised of the three Venot sisters who had a notably good start in last year’s Open. The Argentinean icon will also be up against two German teams including Las Hermanitas, as well as the Schröder sisters, reinforcing their team with the English feminine 6-goaler Rebecca Walter. Women’s polo is booming, and the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly is at the forefront of this phenomenon!

Polo and Yoga with Memo Gracida

Polo & Yoga Adventures is extremely excited and honored to be hosting a Polo & Yoga Adventure with the legendary MEMO GRACIDA this September 24 – 29th in Santa Ynez, California. Memo holds two distinguished records; he has the longest 10 goal rating (21 years) and has the most US Open victories (16)!

We hope you can join this us for this rare opportunity to learn from (and play with) Memo, and experience his amazing horses and team of high goal pros! Memo will be offering instruction in our morning stick and ball sessions as well as during our 4 chukkas in the afternoon. The week culminates with a tournament match, trophies and a celebration dinner.

We will be staying in a spacious 20 acre mountain top estate with 360 views of the Santa Ynez Valley. The mornings will begin with a Yoga for Polo session prior to heading down the manicured fields of Piocho Ranch for a stick and ball session and instruction from Memo. After stick and ball we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the house and an opportunity to take a dip or relax by the pool. In the afternoon, we head back to the fields for 4 exciting chukkas and more importunities to learn from the best. Post polo we will have a brief field side stretch and refreshments of your choice. One evening we will follow up our chukkas with an Argentine asado and an opportunity to spend more time with the exceptional polo pros we will be playing with.

A welcome cocktail party and a delicious dinner prepared by celebrated chef Luca Castaneli will open the adventure. On Friday we will give our bodies a bit of a break and enjoy a VIP lunch and Red Carpet wine tour of the astounding Folded Hills Winery, owned by Kim and Andrew Busch. There we will taste exquisite wines, visit the resident Clydesdales and enjoy the other surprises the beautiful ranch has to offer.

If you don’t do yoga, no worries- you can give it a try, it will be very accessible for all levels or you can opt out. If you have someone that wants to travel with you there are price reductions for shared rooms and if your friend is not a polo player but wants to join to enjoy the beautiful Santa Ynez valley and all of our other fun activities, please inquire for a very reduced price.
