I was born and raised on the island of Maui. I didn’t come from a polo family. My parents rode a little and took me to dude ranches as a kid. I have been riding horses my entire life. Started in the hunter/jumper world then polo just fell into my lap a senior in high school. Moved to Santa Barbara to play intercollegiate polo for 3 years with coach John Wesley. Transferred to TCU for my last year. Landed a spot as one of two women on Team USPA after I graduated college. Bought a 4 yr old mare named Boomie off Craigslist as my first polo prospect I trained myself. She turned out amazing. I have a start-up company called The Barrier Method. Founded it in 2016 because I used to get sick all the time traveling to play in women’s polo tournaments. I haven’t gotten sick ever since I religiously wear my mask. I avoid getting anxiety when I hear people coughing and sneezing on the plane. It also keeps my neck warm and my throat and skin moist. I arrive healthy every time and couldn’t be happier that I don’t have to visit the doctor for antibiotics. I currently live in Honolulu but I try to travel to play as much as I can. My goal in the near future is to move back to California so I have easier access to tournaments all over the country.
