About Tara

Tara Polson grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. She and her husband, Mark Polson, currently live on their horse ranch in Hudson, CO! Mark and Tara have such a love for horses they even got married on horseback in September of 2014! Tara became a step mom of 4 incredible kids, 2 son in laws, 1 daughter in law and 4 beautiful grand babies with one more due any day on that beautiful day in September, as well. Tara grew up riding and training horses. Tara enjoyed growing up with various horsemanship opportunities; Being a part of the Pikes Peak Rangerette drill team, APHA horse shows, open horse shows, and numerous Polo tournaments are just a few of the activities that Tara enjoyed. Before college, Tara’s most accomplished awards included winning the English Champion title at the Colorado State Fair on a horse she trained and her year as President of the Pikes Peak Rangerettes where she led the drill. Tara attended Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelors’ degree in Equine Science and a minor in Agriculture Business, it was at CSU that her love for Polo continued to grow. Tara’s CSU polo team won Regionals 3 times and they were even 2nd in the Nation for two of those years. After college Tara took 7 years off from playing polo while focusing on training young horses for team roping, jumping and showing. She started playing polo again 5 years ago and has since traveled to Great Meadow Polo Club in Virginia and has also taken an International Polo Trip to play in a tournament in Jamaica in 2015! Tara’s biggest polo accomplishment was winning the 2017 Most Valuable STRING at the Denver Polo Club. She obtained this prestigious award for personally training the four horses apart of that string during that year. These horses are still apart of her growing string. Tara also enjoys running her own breeding program. She enjoys raising all around good horses and watching them progress both on and off the Polo field. Tara works as a Reporting Analyst at Bright Horizons in Broomfield, CO. She is currently serving as the Vice President for the Miss Rodeo Colorado Executive Committee. She was a member of The Freedom Riders for the past 5 years. Being a part of the Freedom Riders recently gave Tara the opportunity to travel to Washington DC for the 2017 Inaugural Parade. This summer Tara created a nonprofit group called Colorado Stars & Stripes, Co. Colorado Stars & Stripes, Co. goal is to perform at any type of event including new markets that currently do not have anyone to present The Colors horseback. We also will present the flags for the National Anthem. Our mission is to entertain, develop sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork and dedication while representing the flag of the United States of America along with any other flag the event requests! She enjoys playing polo on the gorgeous fields of the Denver Polo Club, riding and training horses, giving riding lessons, surfing, snowboarding and spending time with family, friends. Tara and Mark currently have 8 athletic horses, 3 amazing cattle dogs, 3 roping steers, 3 goats and 13 chickens that are all a part of the family!
