One of the oldest women’s tournaments in the United States, the US Open Women’s Polo Championship dates to 1937 in San Francisco. Throughout its history, the tournament has waned and been revived, most notably in 1990 at California’s Empire Polo Club when Sue Sally Hale and her daughter’s Sunny and Stormie, along with Caroline Anier won the title. Since 2011, the tournament has been hosted by Houston Polo Club.
